A quiet day of rest

Today was wonderful! Two of my friends, Kim Smith and Michelle Kiefer, went to church with me this morning and then Kim and I spent a couple of hours of talking afterward. We had some good laughs on the way to church, which I won't mention, I would hate to embarrass them especially when pay backs can be really ugly  I love my girlfriends!!

Kim and I sat by the river (in her back yard) and enjoyed a few quiet moments. I told her that if she comes home some day and sees my truck in the drive she knows where to find me, sitting in her swing by the river. Funny girl, she told me I can come over any time...she may rethink that offer when I am there every other day! But then again she may start charging rent for the use of her swing. And oh how I love to swing. It is incredibly relaxing, which is something that is so wonderful especially lately.

A very friend from work, Anita Hamm, ordered pink bracelets. She was able to put 'Ship Happens' on them!! How awesome is that! What a precious gift for me. That spoke volumes to my heart!

Tomorrow is the appointment with Dr. Hendrick, the reconstruction surgeon, and then just 3 days to go to the big day! It is all happening so quickly but I know that God is giving me peace and comfort that I need daily.

I found out the other day that since Kim works in surgery department she will be there with me. What a awesome way to wake up from surgery and see a beautiful friend beside you. God has brought so many wonderful people into my life since moving here and I am so thankful for each and every one of them.

Please pray for the doctors, nurses and all of the other staff that will be with me that day. Pray that when Dr. Rupe does his part of the surgery he will be able to remove enough tissue and lymph nodes to be able to stage me and know the next steps to take. From what he told me, before he removes the tumor he will take samples to send to the lab. I am guessing that is how they stage cancer.

Please pray for my sweet John, I know that this has to be tough on him. Pray for the strength and peace that he can only get from the Lord. And for my babies, the peace that the Lord will put into their hearts and the comfort they will get from their daddy. The unknown is the toughest part for all of us right now.

And then of course, pray for me. What I ask for specifically is that God will use me during my time in the 'boat'. I want Him to use my hands to comfort, my feet to go where He leads and my mouth to tell others about Him. Pray that His will be done, and earnestly pray for this. I want what is best for me and that is God's will, no matter the outcome. Yes, it is easy to say right now while I have no idea what lies ahead but even when I do, I only want His will for me. I know that there will be some that don't understand about God's will and that is okay, but trust me when I say that it is the safest place for me to be!

While John was in Iraq the second time I had no doubt it was God's will that he was there. So many people said "You're taking it so good." Yes, for the most part I was. I had the same peace and comfort that I have now and I knew that it was better for John to be in Iraq in the middle of the war - in God's will, that at home with the children and I - in mine. The worst place to ever be is outside of the will of God.

Be blessed my friends.

Can't I just have five minutes?

Better to dwell in the wilderness, Than with a contentious and angry woman. Proverbs 21:19

It was probably a good thing that lil' John spent the night with Brigette and John had blackout drive so he stayed at work. If you read my post from yesterday then you know that this scripture was quite fitting, I woke up in a foul mood. I am not even sure the dogs liked me. I can't explain why, I didn't have a reason, I just was.

It could have started from the paperwork that I filled out the night before. You know, the paperwork that you have to fill out every time you go to a new Dr., but seriously! It was from Dr. Hendrick's office, the one who is doing the reconstruction. They really need to have a packet that is created specifically for cancer patients. Honestly, I figured that since the top of the form says 'Reconstructive Surgery' that it would. What surgical procedure are you interested in - How odd it was for me to actually circle breast enlargement, I certainly never had a need for that before! What specifically would you like to see accomplished from this procedure - Really? Do I even need to answer that considering why I was put into contact with you to begin with? When did you first consider having this surgery - Well actually 4 days ago. Have you discussed this surgery with your family and are they supportive - This is a rhetorical question right? Oh and I have posted it on Facebook for all of my 'friends' to see and on a blog that I started that I really have no idea who is actually reading. Honestly, I don't care who knows or what they think for that matter. This is about a decision that John and I made together. As you can see I was a bit agitated with the paperwork to begin with. Heck, when I meet with them on Monday, I may offer to create one for 'Cancer patients' and certainly won't include ridiculous questions. If cancer is affecting a part of the body that the general public can see when you are at a store, then it should be obvious why they want it done, right?

I am so blessed even in the midst of this trial. I know that God moved me to Comcare in Minneapolis. I am with people in my community, my family. They are genuinely supportive and caring, not because they have to be but they actually want to be. What other work place would be like that? I can't think of one unless you work at one your family owns.

Vicki Jensen, she is my one of my best friends here in Minneapolis, she knows everything there is to know about me, the good, the bad and even the ugly. We vent together, cry together and most importantly laugh together. We are each other's sounding board so to speak. She is so funny, she always says, "You're such a girl", I love her! I felt like I was blindsided but I knew in my mind that I wasn't. I wasn't expecting a call from the nurse to set up the surgery date, I just assumed that I would talk to Dr. Hendrick on Monday and then schedule the surgery at that time. It hit like a tidal wave that I didn't see coming. I missed the call so she left a message only with the date it was scheduled and told me to call her back. I went to Vicki and said "The winds are picking up but I have my life jacket on." She looked at me like she had no idea what I was talking about, but of course she didn't. She was in the middle of something and had no idea that I got 'the' call. I told her the date and then she smiled because she knew what I meant.

The nurse called me back and I headed back to the break room to talk with her. I think the first words out of her mouth was what time it was scheduled for and that's when it hit home. The tear faucet was turned on and wouldn't stop. It's not that I was sad or even upset about it but they just kept coming. I got a paper towel from the auto dispenser, you know the one, that puts out sandpaper. I was trying to wipe my face and gain some sort of composure and what does she say to me, "It's loud and distracting there, can you go somewhere else so I can talk to you?" Stacey was using the microwave and she heard it beep, the paper towel was touching the mouth piece on my phone and then Lisa came back and said something to Stacey. Are you flipping serious?? Loud?? Then Lisa looked at me and told me that Dr. Labes wanted to talk with me. I told her he would have to wait, I was trying to set up this ridiculous surgery. No, I didn't really think of it as ridiculous but that was the nicest thing to say because in my mind was saying other things. The nurse was trying to talk me and complaining about how loud it was, the microwave was beeping, Lisa was talking to Stacey and I was blubbering trying to tell her that it wasn't loud, I could hear her just fine and to just 'keep talking' (not in a kind way I am sure) and then came my sweet friend Vicki - remember I love her - she said "Dr. Labes wants to talk to you about an MRI." Now mind you, I have nothing to do with the nursing aspect of Comcare, only medical records so I knew he could wait - in a good way of course. She said that I needed to talk to Dr. Labes now. She was saying something about it being free, Dr. McFarland had called, and I needed to talk to Dr. Labes now. I had had it! I lost it! I yelled at her "I need 5 minutes, I am trying to set up this damn surgery and the nurse is being rude. I need 5 minutes!" She kept talking, I said "Get the hell out of here and I will talk to him when I am done!" She left the room saying something but I didn't hear her. I told the nurse that I didn't mean to be rude with her and to please tell me what I needed to know because I needed to get off the phone. She said "I can't imagine what you are going through." Shouldn't that have been what she said instead of telling me how loud it was? Where was her compassion then? The Dr's seem to walk on egg shells when telling someone they have cancer so why couldn't she? She knew why she was calling me, it wasn't like I was having knee surgery! It was a bit more serious than that. She said that my check in was at 9:30 and I had to go to Salina Regional (I couldn't go to the Surgical Center because they don't have the radiology equipment and lab that would be needed. That upset me too, we always go to the Surgical Center. It's smaller, comfortable, and quiet). I had to have tests run then Dr. Rupe would begin surgery at 1:30 and then Dr. Hendrick would come in to do his part afterward. ARE YOU SERIOUS! I have to wait for 4 hours before the surgery even starts! Then she tells me the 'important' part, "Don't have anything to eat or drink after midnight" and that is when I quit listening. I have had enough surgeries to know that, good grief!

I got off the phone, composed myself the best that I could and went to Vicki. I knew that I was wrong for yelling and cussing at her and I needed to apologize. After that I went to see Dr. Labes. Then the tears started again, I was just overwhelmed. He let me ramble on and cry and boo hoo so I could calm down. Then he told me...Dr. McFarland called and asked him if I would be interested in having a free MRI. Something about they have so much money to spend on testing - on breast cancer patients I think - and that he was offering that to me. I wasn't sure why me, considering that from what Dr. Rupe said the only reason that I needed an MRI was if I was going to have a lumpectomy. But since I decided to have everything removed there wasn't any point in us having that extra expense that wasn't needed. So I said okay. He said that Dr. McFarland would be calling me shortly to go over the details. Wow! A FREE MRI! Those are not cheap! God blessed me again even after I said what I said and reacted the way I did. I am so thankful that I have a loving Savior! I don't know why the Lord led Dr. McFarland to come to me, but he did and for that I am thankful. Maybe they will see something that was missed or that they couldn't see on the mammogram or sonogram. I might find out, but then again, I might not. I had the MRI at 4 pm. It definitely wasn't the most comfortable either but another friend from Minneapolis, Yvonne Church, was the one who was doing it. God is so good to me even when I deserve it the least.

God has placed so many good friends in my life and it is incomprehensible and I mean so many that are true friends. Ones that offer to do anything that I need, all I have to do is ask. You know, the important things: provide meals for my family because they have spent all day with me at the hospital and are hungry but to exhausted to cook; laundry that is starting to pile up and a house needing cleaned because it just isn't a priority right now. But oh how nice it would be to come home to a meal and a clean house after being in the hospital for three days. But that's where it gets tough for me. We have done everything on our own for so long that 'we can handle it'. In my mind someone shouldn't have to wait for me to ask, they should just know what needs to be done and do it without waiting for me to tell them, especially because I don't want to...but that is just me. I don't want to tell anyone that we have a need, what does that say about my husband and children? That they aren't capable of taking care of things around here? Taking care of me? That is the last thing that want people to think. But then I get a text from another bestie, Michelle Kiefer, that was like a wake up call. She said, "I am not one of those people that will be in your face and you have other friends that are like that too. They want to help because they care about you and your family but don't want to come in and take over, because that is just them." Much unlike me, I am the type that jumps in and just does and thinks about it later. And let me assure you that it is NOT for recognition because I would rather no one knew what I was doing. I believe in my heart that is a gift that God gave to me, being a servant to those in need. John says that sometimes I go overboard doing for others and forgetting about the needs at home. Unfortunately, he is right. My friend from grade school, yes grade school, is coming to be with me the day of the surgery, Jennifer Ingram Renollet. Honestly, I was floored. From going to a school of 300 or so to a class of 350+ we found new friends. Looking back we put each other on the back burner, as I am sure many do. God put us back in contact over the wonderful Facebook and have talked several times. She told me that I needed to quit being stubborn because she was coming and that she wanted to see me before I checked in. Wow! I know that is God providing a rekindled friendship after all of these years. Michelle really wanted me to see that my pride was getting in the way. Others feel that they are led by God to do and I push them away. I need to accept the blessing that they want to be.

I do have dear friends that I truly love and I am very thankful for them! As Jenn said, quit being stubborn. I am a slow learner but willing to learn. If you want to be there, I will let you.

Be blessed my friends. I love you all.

Ton of bricks

I called and left a message for Dr. McFarland the radiologist and just said that I had a few questions.

At 4 today I am scheduled for a free MRI of my chest to see if it has spread any further. I will explain that later.

They called and my surgery is scheduled for next Thursday. I have to be there at 9:30. And will have several tests done prior to Dr. Rupe coming in at 1:30 to do his part then Dr. Hendrick will come in after. Looks like it will be a long day.

The winds are picking up but I have my life vest on. I am sad and can't stop the tears from coming. It hit like a ton of bricks.

Please pray for my heart to have peace and to calm my nerves.

Is it really for real? ~ July 20, 2012

Some mornings I just flat out think too much. I slept ok last night so I can't say it's from being tired. But it sure is better now than when I am trying to go to sleep.

I guess this is my day of doubt or denial if you want to call it that. And the questions in my mind, good grief.

Is this really cancer? Did they label the specimen wrong? What if the test they did was for another problem and got positive results for that instead of cancer? Did they look at another patients specimen, I mean they are not super human and can make mistakes like anyone else. Basically, are they sure beyond a shadow of a doubt that I really have cancer? I know this may sound weird to some but others will understand completely. I am just gonna tell you that it better be cancer for real and not some boo boo the Dr made or I am gonna be HOT!

Look at all of the posts that I have made about cancer, that I told everyone I know that I have it and they are feeling bad for me! The ones who have cried for me and I try to comfort them because I am pretty much emotionless about the whole thing. And why am I? Is it because I don't really have this serious disease? For the sake of the Dr's and every other medical person out there that has been involved from the testing forward, I am just saying that it better be. Because I aint playin, somebody's but is gonna get their butt chewed and it aint gonna pretty. I will most definitely have a 'few' choice words for them and I can guarantee that it won't be in French, I will make sure that it is clear plain English so they understand exactly what I am saying.

Then I am thinking about the out of pocket money that we will have to come up with to pay for the 'extras' like new boobs. I am pretty nervous about that bill, I'm not going to lie. I know that somehow God will provide it, but seriously!?!? We are looking at all of these Dr visits, tests, 2 surgeons and all of the others that will provide care in the operating room, 3 days in the hospital, and who knows what else we will get slammed with. And I have no idea how much the insurance will actually cover and then if it isn't 'really' cancer and it just ends up looking like I want young, pretty boobs and I am making it all up? It better be for real.

Ok I am venting. I better cool down before I get to work. It's probably best that I have my own office!

A new day after a storm ~ July 19, 2012

He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” John 7:38

First, I have to tell everyone that I am so encouraged and blessed beyond words by your postings on here and Facebook. Please keep them coming, they are huge to me! Thank you so much for posting!!
Last night we had a pretty bad storm up here (we are north of Salina so I always seem to say up here). It was wrecking havoc on our small town - trees and power lines down, sheds being picked up and blown across the street and a house had the roof tore off. Like I said it was a bad one.
What was I doing during the storm?? Sitting in the quietness of my home and thinking how wonderful the sound of rain was and knowing that we needed it badly - I was at peace with it. We have lost power, had strong wind and pounding rain before but I didn't put much thought to it until this morning when I see friends posting pictures. No, I wasn't oblivious to the severity of the storm, I guess I didn't think it was as bad as it really was then.

I guess that I can liken it to my cancer. I know I have it and I have seen what it has done to others - I guess that I don't think that it is 'that bad'. Not saying that it isn't, but that I am not dwelling on it or really thinking about it for that matter. It is like the storm we had last night, one that causes destruction to some but not all. I am also not saying that it won't cause destruction in me.
Dwelling, fretting, crying or being stressed out will not change the fact that I have cancer and certainly will not get rid of it. This is my 'boat'. Am I trying as hard as I can to row against the current - not really, am I sitting there with my oars out of the water - no not that either. What I am doing is rowing at my own pace and letting God do the rest...he is the Captain of my boat. I am calling it 'my boat' which is much smaller than a ship but still a vessel on the river none the less. No matter how big or small our vessel is we are still on the river of life.

You can call it being a military wife who has to roll with the punches or even deal with the stress of being a single parent while my husband is in Iraq. One of my favorite things John has always said is "Suck it up and drive on soldier."

My question to you this day is what is the storm that is pounding away at your boat and how will you handle it? No matter how hard you try can you make it stop? Is it really something that you can change on your own or do you have to let go and let God be the Captain?

Do I know what the outcome of my cancer will be - no. I may live until I am 80 or be lucky enough to see my daughter get married and my son graduate from high school. There have been so many people say "I am praying for you". I hope you are on your knees every night praying for the peace that I can only get from God and that he will wrap his loving arms around my husband and children and prepare them for what the outcome is. I have to laugh (on the inside of course) at those of you who say "You are strong and I know you can beat this". I am strong spiritually - in the Lord - but no one really knows what God has in store for me - not even me. Regardless of the outcome, God is in control and has known from the beginning of time.

My job on earth is to share about God's love and saving grace and the blood that Jesus shed for us. I know the mess He pulled me out of and how He changed my life at that moment I was in the balcony of the church when I asked him to come into my heart and take away my sin. I now know - 100% without a doubt - that when I die I will be in Heaven with Him regardless of when that is.
I pray that what I share and what I show is all for the glory of God. I pray that someone will be blessed, encouraged and even enlightened while I am in my 'boat'. And yes, I pray that if you do not know 100% without a doubt that you will be in Heaven when you die you find someone who can show you from the bible how you can have that blessed assurance.
Be blessed my friends!

Meeting with Dr Rupe ~ July 18, 2012

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; Proverbs 3:5
Monday, July 16, 2012. Today the nurse would be calling to make my appointment with the general surgeon.

When I got to work I kept looking at Chelle when I walked by her desk hoping to get a sign from her that she was on the phone with the surgeon. I just want things to happen and happen now, patience is not one of my virtues. I was talking to a coworker when Chelle came up with a note in her hand and instantly looked at the date - 7/16/12 @ 5:15 p.m. It took me a minute for it to register since I really hadn't looked at the calendar to know what the day was. She said "Tami, today is the 16th". I really couldn't believe that I was to see him after work. The day seemed to creep by and I found myself looking at a clock which hands didn't seem to move. I had a sick feeling in my stomach all day but the peace that I had was from the Lord. I knew His arms were wrapped around me and preparing me for the meeting that was just around the corner. I told John that I would just pick him up and we could go together so I didn't have to drive, my stomach was in knots.
When the nurse called us back into the room it was like I was numb again. I said "Baby, I need for you to listen for me because I can't". We met Lynn, the Nurse Navigator from the Tammy Walker Cancer Center, who stayed in the room with us and Dr. Rupe. When he came in my first thought was 'boy, he's a youngin', but Dr. Van Eaton said he was good and I trust him so much so I knew I didn't have to worry. He was so serious, I mean I know I have cancer - I know that it is a very serious disease - but come on fella smile a little...which I finally let him know that it was okay to do. I sure wouldn't want to have to be in their shoes and have to be the bearer of bad news.
I was a bit more attentive than what I was when Dr. Van Eaton was talking to me so I took in some interesting information. I am the first generation with breast cancer in my family I WON THE LOTTERY  and I am under 40 (3 months under remember).

I needed to be tested to see if I carry a particular gene - I missed the part of what the gene is and why I needed it - but I did hear something about it possibly being handed down to Brigette. So of course this was a no brainer, I had to do it for her.
Surgery is my only option at this point, but I have a choice of which of the 3 surgeries I want to pursue - though none of them sounded to appealing.
Lumpectomy: The percentage of it coming back was quite high since I am a first generation plus I would need 38 radiation treatments.
Mastectomy: This had a high percentage for coming back on the other side - back to the first generation thing and that I am under 40, which is still above my understanding.
Bilateral mastectomy (same as above but removing both breasts: This had only a 2% chance of it coming back and I would need to take medication for 5 years - oh well, what's one more pill??
When we got in the car it was quiet - I am the emotional one so I was looking to him for the answer on what would be best. John, the most wonderful man I know and I am so thankful for him (which I am sure that I mentioned before), thought about it for a couple of minutes and said "Shock and Awe Baby, if we're going to do it, do it all." Well that was my answer that I needed from him because I was very torn. The lumpectomy was easy in my mind I would still keep my breast, but then face the chance of the cancer coming back. The bilateral mastectomy wasn't so easy. I saw the pictures of mastectomy patients, their chests look like a shark took a bite of them and I did not want to look like that, but the percentage was so low. So we decided it would be best for me to have the bilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction (<-- click to find out more). It's nice to know that I will go in with old ones and come out with new ones! Have to keep it light, you know  In all seriousness, I know that it would be very emotionally draining, much more than what I am already going through.
I will be meeting with Dr. Hendrick on Monday, July 23, 2012 to go over the reconstruction, that will probably be the most exciting part of this adventure!

Yesterday, Tuesday, July 17 I posted this on Facebook:

Had a very hard time getting to sleep last night. Felt like I was watching the days events over and over again then didn't sleep well when I finally did. BUT as I sit here in the calm quiet of the morning with a nice breeze and the birds singing (and of course drinking my first cup of coffee) the Lord gives me a song in my heart...Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face...I know that I have God's loving arms wrapped around me. I am at peace with our decision of the surgery that we chose, though difficult, and that He is in control.
I pray that if you are going through a valley in your life right now that you will turn your eyes upon Jesus and see what I have seen this morning.
Be blessed my friends

Today's post:

Before I even get out of bed this morning the Lord speaks to my heart "Today is Thanksgiving". Personally wanted to add "in July" to put a little humor to it, but that is not what He gave me.
I know He isn't talking about turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie as we have come to think thanksgiving is all about. I am to think of what I am thankful for, oh yes if you have seen any recent pictures you can tell that I love food, but it is deeper than that. And it even goes beyond what I am thankful for but what have I taken for granted. John, my wonderful husband of 20 years and 17 days . He has been there through so many ups and downs in my life and helped me carry the emotional baggage that I brought to this marriage. He has loved me through so much. I am blessed beyond words. My children, Brigette and lil' John. The beautiful babies are gifts from God that so many times I forgot they were. They love me today even as I learned how to be a momma since my example really wasn't. The love that I have for my children isn't even close to what I knew growing up and even today. They have taught me what unconditional love really is.
I hope that today you will take a few extra minutes today to think about what you have taken for granted. Let those around you know just how much you love them!

I am excited to see what God has for me in the morning!

My new journey begins ~ July 17, 2012

My New Journey Begins

On July 1, 2012, John and I celebrated 20 years of marriage, I am truly blessed to be married to such a wonderful man! After being told so many times that we wouldn't last we beat the odds and proved them wrong!

On Monday, July 9, 2012 I found a lump in my right breast by chance, it was not during a self exam, a doctor visit or a mammogram. John said that I probably shouldget it checked out. Anyone who really knows me knows exactly how I said "I will honey". I really didn't put much thought in it, we have a strong history of Fibrocystic breast disease and I had a breast reduction in May 2005. I just assumed that it was either cysts or scar tissue from the reduction.

I decided to go ahead and schedule an appointment (Tuesday) with the nurse practitioner for an exam. She wasn't too concerned because it was painful (cancer usually isn't painful, but I had pushed on it the night before) but wanted to go ahead and schedule a mammogram as a precaution, and that I am 'almost' 40, I will need to have them yearly....so why not start now, right?? I mean I have 3 months before I am actually 40!

On Thursday I went in for the mammogram and they ended up doing a sonogram as well since the lump didn't show up on the mammogram. The radiologist came in and told me that it was suspicious and he didn't care for the way it looked so he wanted to do a biopsy. I could either have it done while I was there or come back for another appointment...might as well do it now so I didn't have to take another day off of work to come back or be in pain two days instead of one. Once the biopsy was finished the tech took it to the lab so he would have the results back tomorrow (Friday). If I didn't hear from him by 2 p.m. I was to call him.

I had complete peace - and I mean complete peace - regardless of the outcome. I didn't sleep well on Thursday night and had so many thoughts going through my mind, as I am sure you can imagine. I woke up too early on Friday morning and wanted nothing more than to go back to sleep but knew I needed to get up. As with every morning I get a cup of coffee and go sit on the back patio to enjoy the quiet - and check Facebook and email.

I could feel the Lord's comfort that I was sure to need that day. I checked the phone several times throughout the morning hoping that I didn't miss the call that I was so anxiously waiting for. The next few hours are quite blurry not really knowing what was said, it passed right over my head. At around 12:30 Dr. Van Eaton came into my office and said "So this is where you work" (I work in an office at Comcare in Minneapolis), when I told him yes I didn't think much other than the doctors never come back to our area...how odd. I saw him pull a chair from another room and push it into my office. I only remember that I looked at him and said "It's not good, is it?" and he said no. The next words out of my mouth surprised even me "Well, give me a high 5 since we have an answer". I can only imagine what he was thinking! I feel bad that he even has to tell someone that they have cancer but then when some psycho chic says that he must have been floored  Poor guy! The only thing that I actually remember is that he said that the next step was surgery and they would be calling to set up an appointment for me. After that, I am basically at a loss. I don't remember what was said but I listened as if we were talking about the weather and feeling nothing, numb really. I remember walking out of the office and looking at the girls at the front desk...I could hear Stacey and Tasha asking what was wrong, I could hear stress in Stacey's voice, I am not even sure how long I stood there but when I was able to find the words I said "It's positive." I left work early that day and drove to town to tell John that the results came back. I told John, we told the children and then I was on the phone until 10:30 p.m. calling family and friends.

Making it through the weekend

I didn't sleep well on Friday night and Saturday was uneventful, so much that I can't even remember what I did. Went to bed on Saturday and was looking forward to church on Sunday and praying for rest which seemed to escape me for the past few nights. Sunday morning the Lord gave me a song in my heart: This is the day the Lord has made, we shall rejoice and be glad in it! Church was AMAZING! I needed my cup filled so badly and it was now! Once church was over we came home, had lunch and then lil John and I went fishing. Oh how I love the peaceful lake and time with my son - except when he makes absolutely no effort and catches 5 back to back! What's up with that??

Tomorrow would be the day the surgeon would be called and I just wanted to sleep.
